Sad news as policeman rapes & Deflowers an innocent girl

It's quite alarming how rape cases are on the raise in recent times. A rape victim identified as Hannah Mawusi Fiamevor narrates the ordeal she went through in the hands of a policeman at age 16. The revelation was made on #TheDayShow which is hosted by Berla Mundi. Her family was not well to do which resulted in her dropping out of Senior high school when she was sacked for owing tuition fees. She started engaging in petty trading to raise some funds to get back to school. According to the narration, she was requested by a Mechanic she knew to do laundry for a his friend a policeman she didn't know.

On getting to the policeman's apartment she realised that a young girl had already finished with the laundry that she was told earlier on to help with. Curiosity got the better part of her and she asked the man why he was there since the laundry has already been done. 

The man instantly locked the door end tried to your her into having S*x with him. she shouted but couldn't be heard since his apartment was made up by glaze material and also since no one was around. He physically assaulted and threatened to hurt her if she doesn't succumb to his sexual desires. She then started a brawl with him till he hit her head against a wall and she became motionless he then sexually assaulted and disvirgin her .

 She left home bleeding,limping and in severe pain. She called and narrated the incident to her dad who was on a visit to his hometown in volta region at the time she arrived home. The parents confronted the policeman when the dad was back from his hometown he initially denied the act but later accepted when the father of the victim threatened to curse him with a bottle of schnaps he had brought from his hometown in the Volta region purposely for the act he had committed.

with that the policeman pleaded for the case to be settled at home and gave them an amount of 1000 cedis. 

The parents of the victim accepted and agreed to settle the case at home and not to involve any authorities since they were going through severe financial hardship. The victim at then was very furious at parents for given in to the plea and action of the policeman rather than reporting him to be dealt with by law.

 Can the police man still be convicted after so many years for this ? Do you agree with the actions of the parent of this innocent child?
