Demolition Of Budumburam Camp Placed On Hold

The planned demolition of the Budumburam camp which was scheduled to have taken place on the 30th of September has been postponed due to the cries of some of the refugees.

Mr Tetteh Padi who is the Executive secretary of the Ghana Refugee Board stated that the board has found an alternative shelter for the refugees and they will be moved away from the Budumburam camp.

Mr. Tetteh Padi speaking on the Accra-based Citi FM, said  that "Government is sensitive to the plight of refugees so the actual demolition has been put on hold while we give them time to make alternate arrangements for shelter.

"For the rest of the population, they still have a little bit of time to make alternative arrangements."
